Children in need!
We had a fantastic day today- raising money for Children in Need. There were lots of strange (and very small) teachers wandering about and some extremely weird looking (and tall) pupils in school!!
Three 'Mrs Coates' took our special merit assembly and there were some very naughty children in the back row!!
Our new music teacher Amelia played the piano for the happy birthday song.
Christmas Carols
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the switching on of the Christmas lights in Llanharry. You all sounded fantastic and the lights looked fabulous!

We all marched to the memorial, led by the British Legion. Rev Sue took the service and we laid our wreaths.

Mayor's visit
Mayor Barry Stephens visited school today to receive our harvest donations for the food bank. He also helped give out our merit certificates to this weeks winners - well done everyone X

Super attender visited on Friday to talk about how important it is to be in school every day. We all enjoyed joining in with his song!

Super attendance
Super Attender visited to present our best attendees with certificates - those with over 98%. He also presented trophies to those children with the best improved attendance. Well done everyone x

A hair cut for charity!
Amelia Davies was awarded a very special head teachers award today. She had 9 1/2 inches cut off her hair and donated it to "The little princess trust". This is a charity that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair whilst undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer. What a fabulous thing to do x

Rhys Cycle
Rhys Cycle visited our school today to present our Eco Council with litter pickers, fluorescent vests and gloves. We will now be able to not only tidy up the school grounds but the community as well!

Songwriting workshop
Some lucky pupils in year 5&6 took part in a workshop with a songwriter today. They wrote the lyrics and created a melody for a new school song. It sounded amazing! The song is now being transferred onto a CD so we can all learn it and sing it for our parents.

Best of St. Davids Day
NOur parents were treated to a 'Best of St Davids Day' concert. Every class performed their Welsh song and the recital winners recited their poems together. The art and handwriting winners showed their beautiful work. The event was well attended and everyone enjoyed a cultural morning.

Waste Week
It is national 'waste week' and Dean from RCT waste management came to talk to the children on Monday about recycling. He talked about what happens to the recycled rubbish and we were amazed at the different things it is turned into - aeroplanes to name one!! He talked about the types of things we can recycle- which turned out to be nearly everything!

Eisteddfod 2015
We all enjoyed another fantastic Eisteddfod Competition Today. Caradog won on the day but it was a close competition:
