Elf School

What a fantastic morning at our Elf School. The children enjoyed making elf hats, Christmas crackers, icing biscuits and having their faces painted before visiting Santa in his grotto. Thank you to the community council for donating the selection boxes and the PTA and staff for all their hard work. 

Christmas Jumper day

We raised £76 for Save the Children by wearing our Christmas jumpers to school and making a donation. Don't we look fab!

Llanharry Food bank

We were invited to the opening of the new Llanharry Food Bank. The food bank was opened by our local councillor and MP. We donated all our harvest parcels to the food bank to help them get started.

Carol Service

We had a lovely morning in our carol service at the church.

Merit awards

Well done to our merit winners this week. Jake received a special head teachers award for fantastic science !

Remembrance mural

Our mural is looking beautiful with the poppies laid by the village on Sunday. 

100% attendance

Well done to the 74 children who had 100% attendance last half term. They all received a certificate and special pencil.

Halloween Disco

What a fantastic turnout for this years Halloween Disco! All the children looked fantastic in their costumes. Thank you to our fabulous PTA who organised and ran the event.

Lads and Dads

We had a fantastic turnout for our Lads and Dads evening on Wednesday. Thanks to everyone who attended. We will continue to run the evenings every half term and hope to get in some  inspirational speakers and special 

activities. Not forgetting the sausage and chip supper!

 

Regimental Goat

The British Legion brought a very special visitor to school yesterday - their regimental goat. We heard all about his duties and how they care for him. He is the goat that appears at all the Wales rugby matches - a very famous goat indeed

NSPCC Sponsor event

Don't forget to bring in your sponsor money by Monday 21st for this worthwhile cause. Mrs Phillips from the NSPCC told us all about the good work of 'Child-line' that helps children with problems. We are raising money to help this service continue.

The juniors have completed a multiplication challenge and foundation phase a shape challenge.

Headteacher's Award

Mrs Coates will be choosing a pupil each week for a special 'Headteacher's Award'. This weeks winner was Sophie O'Connell for excellent work and effort. Well Done!

Thank you Asda Living

Mrs Coates and Mrs Fender were presented with a £50 cheque from Asda Living in Llantrisant. For the past few months shoppers have been deciding which local charity box to post their green tokens in. As our PTA were the charity with the most coins we were rewarded with the £50!!

100% attendance

What a great start to the year with class 7 achieving 100% attendance for the first week. They were rewarded with a choc ice each! Well done  - keep it up.

Stars of the Week!

Well done to all our merit award winners this week. As a reward all our merit winners sat at the 'Top Table' for their lunch with a friend.

100% attendance for the year

Nine children achieved 100 % attendance for the whole year. This fantastic achievement was rewarded with a special gift and a voucher off a meal in the Fox and Hounds. All the names were put in a hat and Megan Jordan's name was drawn to win a family meal for 4 in the Fox and Hounds. Well done everyone and thanks to John in the Fox and Hounds for donating the prizes.

Best class attendance this term

Class 5 won the award for the best attendance all term and were rewarded with choc-ices!

Attendance awards for the half term

Certificates and prizes were awarded today for children with 100% attendance this half term.

Languages assembly

Year 6 performed songs in French and our Spanish after school club performed songs in Spanish. All the children were awarded certificates and parents were invited to attend. Thank you Madame Smith for the French and Spanish lessons this term.
